Target Audience:
Staff and managers of open youth centers, youth spaces, and clubs
Description:
In order to gain a clear understanding of youth workers’ needs and to develop a focused training agenda, a needs assessment study was conducted involving representatives from open youth centers, spaces, and clubs.
Participants were invited to describe the profile of the “ideal youth worker,” which helped to highlight both existing strengths and areas for professional development.
The research identified key competency areas such as: social work, psychology, non-formal education, working with young people with special needs or mental health challenges, as well as counseling, case management, and intercultural work.
Additionally, managers expressed a need to enhance their knowledge in team motivation, inter-institutional cooperation, and crisis response planning.
This assessment has laid the foundation for designing purposeful and practically relevant training programs within the youth policy field in Vilnius.
