" The Change Route " is a sustainable mobility and climate change education project for young people and professionals working with youth. Its goal is to show that environmental issues can be talked about creatively, understandably and inspiringly, and that young people can not only listen, but also create change themselves.

 

The project's goal: to strengthen the competences of youth workers and young people aged 14-29 in the areas of climate change and sustainable mobility. To provide theoretical knowledge and practical tools to help involve young people in reducing GHG emissions and promoting sustainable mobility solutions in Vilnius in an interesting, interactive and youth-friendly way.

 

Project objectives:

 

1. Organize two-day training for youth workers: participate in the "Climate Mural" workshop and practical workshops promoting sustainable mobility, which will analyze simulation situations; get acquainted with youth engagement methods; learn how to use an educational board game as an educational tool.

 

2. To gather a group of young people from various backgrounds who will: participate in the process of creating an educational board game; consult with transport and climate change experts; and create a game reflecting Vilnius' transport pollution zones and sustainable mobility alternatives.

 

3. Organize board game evenings in organizations: introduce the game to young people and collect feedback on its impact; stimulate discussions about the importance of sustainable mobility.

 

Expected quantitative results:

• 24 youth workers will acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills about climate change and promoting sustainable mobility;

• At least 10 young people will actively contribute to the creation of an educational board game;

• 1 physical board game (30 pieces) will be created (in Lithuanian and English).

Number of young people directly reached: 300

 

The project is part of the Vilnius - European Green Capital climate neutrality promotion programme project competition neŠYLAM. The programme is administered by the Public Institution "Neutralus klimatui Vilnius", established by the Vilnius City Municipality.
